3rd Block | CROSS THE RIVER SAY NO

The June block brings a number of artistic performances that move upstream – against the current of expectations, representation and linearity. Amidst that movement are not answers, but moments of shift: between disciplines, between consensus, between the look and silence, between the surface and that which the eyes cannot see. Artistic gestures settle as layers and sections – on body, space, language. As if we were performing an archaeology of everyday practices, sounding the soil that vibrates with emotions, myths, unspoken experiences. Earth is not a scenery – she is a living being, terra viva, which breathes with us and through us.

From the feminist reading of hope in devastation (The 11 Foxes Society), over dance that mourns but still celebrates (OVA: Tristitia), to the choreography that contains multiple non-alignments – political, poetic, dance-related (Such as Rhymes with Non) – performances catenate as fragments of a layered, mutual sentence. In its duration emerges a quiet, but persevering record from the margin – a presence that does not seek permission (Unauthorized). The body layers through technology and impossibility (Alchemical Beast), while we are saving space for slowing down, opening time for an exchange without a set target (Through Choreography and Sound: A Critical Practice of Spatial Thinking). Finally, we are invited to stop, listen, and read the landscape – as if it was a book, as if it was a whisper of the soil that remembers more than we can say (cracks in landscape).

We invite you to cross – not to get somewhere, but to stay longer. In movements that inconspicuously spread like tree rings.

In that silence a “no” echoes – as a conscious act, as joint breathing.
