Laura Kirshenbaum
performance

From image to image, from one performative state to another, in this unplugged version of No Hard Feelings Laura Kirshenbaum retakes the materials of her original stage work and installs them otherwise in the white space of the museum. This new context proposes new ways of engaging with the feminine archive; starting from screened images of feminine representations, she revisits Eve and her avatars over the span of history.
Her body becomes an intersection of temporalities and myths, physicalities and attitudes, through which she questions how processes of learning and unlearning form new stories and images. She becomes part of a great female lineage, adding herperspective as a creature of the 21st century, a contemporary pop figure. Here, voice, music, language, image, objects, body and face are the components with which Laura tackles the given history that has been passed on for years: from mouth to ear, from one body to the other.
The solo No Hard Feelings was first presented as a stage piece in the frame of the Mediterranean biannual of the arts in Montpellier, November 2021.
No Hard Feelings on ANTISEZONA is realised through DANCE HUB, a residency and studio slot programme that is a part of the European Life Long Burning project.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Laura Kirshenbaum is a dancer, choreographer, teacher and an outside eye. She approaches the fields of dance and choreography as fields of knowledge, by which cultural, social, sensorial, perceptual and physical faculties are being learned or unlearned, questioned and maybe even tackled and disturbed.
