performance
As a place that assembles questions of the individual versus the collective, the conscious and unconscious appropriating of features from the surroundings and defining the self in regard to it, Fear of Small Differences is a project that strives to highlight the space between the desire to adapt and the impossibility of it, the space between the identities that emerge in displacement from the usual and familiar. By alienating one’s own body in the purpose of adapting, the line between one’s own and somebody else’s is lost, a feeling of belonging is searched for, nostalgia awakens, a negotiation begins between the past and present, the known and unknown.
