MODULAR SCHOOL

Nomad dance academy Croatia

Participatory program

We invite you to the open days marking the conclusion of a two-year creative exploration as part of the Modular School, an educational program dedicated to contemporary dance and performing arts. Under the umbrella of the Nomad Dance Academy Croatia, the program has provided a unique learning space where participants explored their artistic practices, exchanged knowledge, and connected with the local and regional dance community. Throughout the modular program, participants developed their work in collaboration with peers, through mentorship and creative exchange. After two years of intense research and creative development, the participants will share their experiences on November 21st. We invite you to visit their collective work at TALA PLE(j)S. Through an interactive installation, visitors will have the opportunity to explore individual projects intertwined with group responses.

The installation will be open to the public on November 21, 2024, and at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, you will have the chance to meet the participants and learn about their work.

Additionally, we are planning open classes on November 19th and 21st, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, where you will have the opportunity to meet the participants and teachers, who will share their practices over these two days.

Artists who participated in the Modular School: Boris Barukčić, Viktoria Bubalo, Silvija Dogan, Ela Đimoti, Dora Pocedić, Linda Tarnovski, Sara Trbara, Jovana Zelenović, and Nika Špekuljuk.

Artistic leadership: Aleksandra Janeva Imfeld in collaboration with Davor Škrlec and Koraljka Begović, in partnership with Tala PLE(j)S.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb’s Office for Culture
