ARTISTIC EXCHANGE RESIDENCY

Fani Pozidi
10th February – 21st February 2026
Zagreb, Croatia

We are happy to announce Fani Pozidi, who will be visiting Zagreb for an Artistic Exchange Residency, a programme organized as part of the Life Long Burning Creative Europe project.

While she is in Zagreb, Fani will be in residency at TALA PLE(j)S to work on her projects (10th February – 21st February), will hold a workshop for dance professionals and those with experience in movement (10th February – 13th February) and have a showing of her work in making, Growing a Mane (21st February).

ARTIST STATEMENT

My interests involve the exploration of physical and emotional states through the dynamics and playfulness of contradictions. In my practice I attempt to approach creation and performance through an interdisciplinary lens, experimenting with voice, sound, videography and writing as embodied forms of inquiry. In my current research project, I have been investigating the notions of effort and futility in everyday life and the era of social acceleration, as well as the idea of giving up as a potential act of resistance and self-preservation. This research has led to a practice of charging-discharging – physically investigating bipoles and contradictions through movement as well as writing and voice as extensions of the embodied the experience.

WORKSHOP

My work engages with the poetics of the everyday—its struggles, repetitions, and resistances—tracing how these experiences are held and expressed within the body. These classes are a sharing of my practice “charging–discharging” and an invitation to collectively reflect on these themes through the dynamics and playfulness of contradictions. We will investigate the bipoles strength/vulnerability, momentum/stagnation, and limitation/freedom through movement improvisations, as well as writing practices and collaborative play. The classes are open to professional and semi-professional dancers or performers with movement experience. Materials for the writing practices will be provided, though participants are also welcome to bring your own for personal documentation.

The workshop will be held at TALA PLE(j)S, from TUESDAY, 10th February to FRIDAY, 13th February, from 10 AM to 12 PM. To apply to the workshop, send an e-mail to antisezona@gmail.com. The workshop is free

SHOWING

Exhausted souls in disciplined bodies, inhabiting exhausted worlds.

Growing a Mane (working title) explores themes of effort, futility, and abandon. Finding herself in life’s relentless race, the performer questions the compulsion to “keep up” and keep going. What would it mean to truly give up? Could this liminal space between striving and surrender allow alternative temporalities to arise? Through movement, text and sound the project aims to create an atmosphere of personal reflection and collective catharsis.
