OPEN LAB: CONSTELLATION OF BODIES

Teodora Ežovska and Nomad Dance Academy Croatia
participatory programme

The focus of the Constellations of Bodies workshop is on creating group dynamics and harmony among participants by developing awareness of internal dynamics, space, time as a measuring unit, and proximity. Through improvisation and inspiration from nature, participants will explore ways to create a movement constellation through space. Specifically, we will focus on mimicking the structure and composition of a flock of birds as they travel from one place to another.

Space + Time + Proximity = Body Constellations

In the Constellations of Bodies workshop, the methodology and tools work synergistically to stimulate the creative potential of participants. Through improvisation, mindfulness exercises, and experiments with space and time, participants will explore new ways to interact with their bodies and surroundings, leading to the creation of expressive and harmonious movement constellations. This process will enrich participants as performers and encourage them to develop their creative skills in dance and choreography

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER

Teodora Ežovska (born 06.03.1997) began her dance career at the age of seven. Her childhood passion for dance, including her first steps in hip-hop, dance theater, and show dance, evolved throughout the years. She pursued her studies at the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje, majoring in Ballet Pedagogy – Contemporary Dance, where she expanded and deepened her dance vocabulary. Her experience as a performer and dance artist is broad and diverse, allowing her to explore and expand her movement and dance expression. She has participated in projects such as “Project M”, “Apoptosis”, “Strange Noise”, “Metamorphosis”, “Re- Platform”, “Go Deep”, “Her Own Space”, “Urban Landscape Movement”, “Swindel”, and many others. Working as a choreographer allows her to explore, experiment, and apply methodologies involving space, time, proxemics, collective work, objects, and more. As a choreographer, she has created works such as “Spiral” (2018), “Unity”, “Thorn” (2019), “Synergy” (2020), “I Can’t Breathe, I Can’t Speak”, and her piece “The Circle is Not Round”, which won third prize at the Choreographic Miniatures Festival in Belgrade. Currently, Teodora is working on her new piece “La Lola / The One Who Knows”, which she had the opportunity to begin and present as a work-in-progress at the Karlovac Dance Festival in Croatia, as part of the (Non)Aligned Movements by the Nomad Dance Academy.
