What to register during / after a performance? What do we name and utter, what do we actively remember, what do we bind into collective (performative) memory?

During the festival we will, in a discussion with artists, after every performance generate collaborative material which we will interpret afterwards at this closing session and shape into a publication/zine, using interdisciplinary knowledge (art, design and museum studies).

This lab format is made in the context of the project Imaginary Practices of Recording, aiming to explicate the uncertain position of performance arts, especially dance, in the institutional discourse from which it is mainly excluded. For that reason, recording, archiving, even musealizing the object of dance is down to the community itself which methodologically develops them and returns them to their own art practice. The interested public is invited to take part in the open lab format so that we may jointly register different performative practices and work methodologies and crack open broader questions of institutionalisation and historization of dance in the local context.

This project is realized in cooperation with Divert / ANTISEZONA as a Performance Situation Room: Expose event, as part of the Life Long Burning 3 European project. This event is a part of the Improspections festival.
